Great purchase which I'm very happy I made! The quality of the guitar is tremendous, and it's an incredibly fun instrument to play. I know it will also be a crowd pleaser, and start a lot of cool conversations! Grateful for the ability to adjust action as I play a lot of slide, and it's a great model for that as well as standard playing! Love it and recommend it! Cheers!
Fit and finish is fine. Setup is about what you would expect.....it needs a setup. The strings are a full qtr inch off at 17th fret and the intonation at the first three frets is bad because the nut slots need work. But this review is based on the premise that any guitar you buy needs a setup and, I don't give out 5's unless, well unless I'm amazed. So not amazed, not disappointed either and, if you intend to play slide with yours...it should be good to go.
Just purchased our dream house on the beach in St Augustine, and our new Boho Surf Wax guitar will be the first piece of art that you see when you walk in the door!
Saw these at Sam Ash and initially laughed...then realized it's a heck of a concept, with a great variety. I'm a P-90 nut and grew up surfing so "a Surf Wax" was a no- brainier. I was pleasantly surprised by the setup and fretwork, as I'm pretty picky. All I did was a minor action adjustment and run a 3M pad along the fret ends and it was ready to go. Love the rubber feet - It's the only guitar I store on an end table. As far as sound, it's kind of Les Paul Jr.-meets-resonator. Great for alt country or blues and absolutely kills for slide. I just wish dealers stocked cases...and that cases were a little cheaper. Just great guitar and recall attention getter!
I just recieved my Surf Wax Boho. And I love it. Feels good, plays well, and the single p90 renders that great twang that works so well with traditional surf guitar. Having a lot of fun with it, and it's currently the best conversation piece in my collection.
Yes I love my Surf wax model I use it for slide in the Texas Countyr-rock band BueTick ! Its a crowd pleaser !
Really like the surf wax paint job on the uke, but really tough time getting it in tune. The order was actually delayed in shipping out, and I was told it was due to intonation issues that needed fixing, but even after delay, mine still doesn't sound right. Looks cool on the wall though.
An excellently rafted instrument for the price! I couldn____t be more pleased. Thanks for an excellent product, with unusually attentive customer service. A real value for the price!
Feels good to play, has a nice ring to it. Action set up great, I'm glad I chose this model. BTW get a case to go with it, its just as cool
Very cool and happy with the guitar
I couldn't be happier with my Bohemian products - quality, impressive, and awesome. I'd definitely recommend Bohemian to all my artist friends. This company has it all, including an amazing customer service!
The sound of this thing is unmatched. The strings are pretty bad , but endure for a while. I still need to tame this fine lady . Its cleans please me too , but with the overdrive still can not find any set up to satsfied me. .
I received the ukulele today and added it to my collection. It has a great tone. It sounded great when plugged to an amp. I'm extremely satisfied with the company and can't wait to get a third Boho!
so yes it s that time of year again and what do you get that special someone.....look no further.......these t shirts are so cool you don t have to surf, play guitar or ukelele or drink moonshine....but......the statement you make while strutting around your favorite mall wearing one of these beauties will have folks begging for you autograph....and howling s o b give me a drink...
It's a fun little guitar to play with and look at. pros: innovative, good pickup, semi decent hardware. cons: mine arrived with the back scratched up like its a used guitar, the felt like material around the neck is peeling off, the volume pot is scratchy, the strings are absolutely worthless (it would've been better if they didn't string it at all), and I've noticed that it feedbacks quite often if you are anywhere near the amp. I fixed the felt, the pots, and its on its way to my tech to get it set up. hopefully we can get this thing rockin'. Would I suggest this to a beginner? no, too much work (strings, pots, intonation) and it is not the most comfortable guitar to play sitting down. Would I suggest this to someone who already has quite a few guitars? Yes, I bought mine just to play slide on.
Demo'd one of these at Summer NAMM in Nashville! Immediately went home and pre-ordered one. Can't wait for it to arrive this winter :)) eeeek!
